Poor Little Rich Girl

On her way to boarding school, Barbara Barry (Shirley Temple) loses her nurse to an injury and ends up alone in town, the daughter of a soap manufacturer with no one left to answer to. She falls in with Jerry and Jimmy Dolan (Alice Faye, Jack Haley), a song-and-dance act on radio, whose sponsor is a rival soap company. Irving Cummings stages the numbers as plain, bright showpieces and lets Temple carry them.
