Port of Shadows

“Tender... frankly adult. Filled with almost every emotion known to man”

Jean (Jean Gabin) is an army deserter who walks into Le Havre down a foggy, empty road, hoping for one more chance at a decent life. Marcel Carné sends him through the port's shadows, where Nelly (Michèle Morgan) and the shopkeeper Zabel (Michel Simon) pull him into a story of revenge and kindness. By the time his name reaches the front pages, Jean is a man who only wanted to start again.
