Possession

(2002)Directed by Neil LaBute102 min · PG-13Drama, Mystery, Romance
“The past will connect them. The passion will possess them.”

In modern England, the scholar Maud Bailey (Gwyneth Paltrow) studies the poet Christabel La Motte, while Roland Michell (Aaron Eckhart), an American in London, studies Randolph Henry Ash, best known for poems dedicated to his wife. Together they uncover a cache of love letters that seem to pass between the two poets and follow the trail across England. Neil LaBute sets the letters against the pair reading them, handwriting that outlasted its writers.
