Posthumous Memories

Brás Cubas (Reginaldo Faria) is already dead when the film begins, a rich man in nineteenth-century Brazil who tells his own life from the grave. He looks back on his younger self (Petrônio Gontijo) with the same amused scorn he has for the society that made him. André Klotzel keeps his attention on Brás and Virgília (Viétia Zangrandi), the woman he cannot stop returning to.
