Potato Dreams of America

“Real life is stranger than fiction”

Potato is a gay boy growing up in the collapsing USSR, raised by his mother Lena, who answers an ad and becomes a mail-order bride. She takes him to Seattle in the 90s, to a new country, a new husband and a language neither of them speaks well. Wes Hurley, telling his own story, mixes the comedy and the heartache, with Jesus Christ (Jonathan Bennett) turning up in the boy's imagination.
