Powwow Highway

Philbert Bono (Gary Farmer) is a big, gentle Northern Cheyenne man who treats a rusted-out Buick as a war pony. His friend Buddy Red Bow (A Martinez), hot-tempered and tired of the reservation, needs a ride to Santa Fe, where Buddy's sister Bonnie (Joanelle Romero) sits in jail on a framed charge. Jonathan Wacks sends them south from Montana at the speed of that car, and the trip keeps asking what the two men still owe their people and their past.
