Priest

“In a world of rituals, in a place of secrets, a man must choose between keeping the faith and exposing the truth.”

Father Greg Pilkington (Linus Roache) arrives at a working-class parish in Liverpool wanting to serve his congregation as plainly and as hard as he can. His housemate, Father Matthew Thomas (Tom Wilkinson), lives openly with his housekeeper, and Greg is still learning to see the people around him as they are. Antonia Bird keeps the camera close on Greg's face in the confessional, the booth's dark grille pressed between him and the voice he cannot answer.
