In a kingdom of fairy-tale castles and sorcerers, Princess Arete (Houko Kuwashima) lives locked in a tower, kept there by a sorcerer who is afraid she will take his eternal life. Her only company is a villager named Boax (Tsuyoshi Koyama), who agrees to help her plan a way out. Sunao Katabuchi, working with Studio 4°C, draws the castle and its country in crowded, richly detailed color.
