Princess Cyd

Cyd Loughlin (Jessie Pinnick) leaves her depressed father and South Carolina behind for a few summer weeks in Chicago with her aunt, the novelist Miranda Ruth (Rebecca Spence). Cyd, a high school athlete, takes up with a girl from the neighborhood while she and Miranda go back and forth about sex and faith. Stephen Cone keeps it unhurried and close, letting the long talks at the kitchen table matter as much as any kiss.
