“She came from a Royal Line but his Line was better!”

A pilot named Eddie O'Rourke (Robert Cummings) charms a European princess who is vacationing in the United States, and he has no idea whose company he is keeping. Princess Maria (Olivia de Havilland) has come to enjoy a stretch of ordinary freedom, with her uncle (Charles Coburn) never far behind. Norman Krasna wrote and directed the film, and its warmest stretches are the plain, easy ones between her and the pilot.
