“How far would you go to protect your child?”

Keller Dover (Hugh Jackman) wants his six-year-old daughter back, and he wants it faster than the police can give her to him. Detective Loki (Jake Gyllenhaal) runs the case, and Keller stops trusting him early, long before the leads run out. Villeneuve shoots the search in cold, rain-gray light and lets the dread build slowly, one dead end after another.
