Private Benjamin

“The Army was no laughing matter until Judy Benjamin joined it.”

In 1980, Judy Benjamin (Goldie Hawn), a sheltered young woman from a wealthy family, joins the US Army on a whim. She is not ready for the barracks, the drills, or Capt. Doreen Lewis (Eileen Brennan), who has no patience for her. Howard Zieff sets her up in basic training with nothing to fall back on, and the comfortable life she left is suddenly out of reach.
