Private Romeo

“Love goes toward love as schoolboys from their books.”

At McKinley Military Academy, eight male cadets are left behind on an isolated campus, and they pass the time reading Romeo and Juliet aloud. Alan Brown speaks the play only in the cadets' own voices, and Sam Singleton (Seth Numrich) and Glen Mangan (Matt Doyle) slide into the lovers' parts. Their attachment grows in a place where the rules forbid saying it, so each rehearsed line risks exposing them both.
