Promises

Alexander (Pierfrancesco Favino) is married and has a daughter, and he is happy enough until he meets Laura (Kelly Reilly) at a party. She is about to be married herself, and the pull between them shows on both their faces. Amanda Sthers, adapting her own novel, keeps them circling each other while Alexander's childhood memories rise up and make the wanting harder to wave off.
