The title is a nonsense word, and the facts never say what it means. Alan Duckworth (John Albasiny) is fourteen in the summer of 1948 and keeps a list of three wishes: lasting peace, an Ashes win for England, and a first kiss from his classmate Ann Lawton (Abigail Cruttenden). Michael Apted gives him a school play in which Ann's lips are written into the script. Alan stands there with his wishes, and England are doing well at cricket.
