Pump Up the Volume

“TALK HARD. STEAL THE AIR.”

In a dry Arizona suburb with a high school that seems built to keep its students quiet, Mark Hunter (Christian Slater) has no friends and little to say by day. At night he sits in the basement with a shortwave radio and becomes "Hard Harry," a pirate DJ who tells his classmates what they can't say out loud. Allan Moyle films the basement and the airwaves as the one place in town where anyone is listening.
