Katarina (Alicia Vikander), twenty and stuck in a dreary suburb, hears Mozart's Requiem at the Gothenburg Concert Hall and decides her life has to change. She is willing to lie her way toward a new one, and that road leads her to Adam (Samuel Fröler), the married conductor. Lisa Langseth keeps the film close to Katarina, who wants a different self badly enough to pay whatever it asks.
