Pursued

“Robert Mitchum fights for the love of three people who want to see him dead...his family.”

In the New Mexico of the 1880s, Jeb (Robert Mitchum) grows up on a neighboring family's ranch, taken in as a boy after his own family was killed, and the night of the murders still comes back to him in nightmares. Raoul Walsh follows him into adulthood, where his adoptive brother wants him dead and Thor (Teresa Wright), the sister raised beside him, is the one person he loves. The film treats the past as a debt Jeb cannot put down, however far he rides from it.
