“DRAMA OF THE WAR ON SPIES!”

Test aircraft keep vanishing over the ocean on their maiden flights, taking their crews with them and leaving no wreckage behind. Major Hammond (Ralph Richardson), an eccentric police inspector, joins test pilot Tony McVane (Laurence Olivier) and the reporter Kay Lawrence (Valerie Hobson) to find out where the planes go. Tim Whelan and Arthur B. Woods treat the search like a lark, since the three of them are plainly enjoying the chase.
