“A Way of Life”

London in the 1960s, and Jimmy Cooper (Phil Daniels) spends his days in a dead-end job and his money on tailored suits. At night he rides his scooter with the Mods, a crowd that includes Steph (Leslie Ash), Chalky (Phil Davis) and Dave (Mark Wingett), and Franc Roddam, in his first feature, keeps the camera close to their lives. Jimmy has pinned everything on belonging to the scene, and the film shows how little else he has to fall back on.
