A Los Angeles apartment building, one night, and a local news crew tagging along with a fire station for a segment on the overnight shift. Angela Vidal (Jennifer Carpenter) and her cameraman follow the firefighters into a routine call, and the CDC seals the doors behind them. John Erick Dowdle keeps the camera on Angela's face as she goes on reporting, because the lens is the only thing she still controls.
