Why does a prince take a convent girl from her bed? Kitty Kelly (Gloria Swanson) lives among the nuns until Prince Wolfram (Walter Byron), who is promised to Queen Regina V (Seena Owen), has her carried off. The film follows her toward a brothel in East Africa. Erich von Stroheim ends on Kelly, small in a doorway of that far-off house.
