Catherine Hewitt (Elisabeth Moss) arrives at a lake house still raw from a loss, hoping a week with her oldest friend will settle her. Alex Ross Perry places her there with Virginia Lowell (Katherine Waterston), and the two women find they have drifted far apart since they last shared a house. Every polite remark between them now carries resentment, and each one starts to suspect the other.
