Queen of the Damned

“The mother of all vampires.”

Lestat de Lioncourt (Stuart Townsend) wakes from a long sleep and wants an audience, so he becomes a rock star who sings openly about being a vampire. His music reaches Akasha (Aaliyah), the vampire queen, who rises with plans to make him her king. Michael Rymer stages their pull toward each other as a question of how much of yourself you hand over to be loved by a queen who has outlived everyone.
