Queen of the Desert

“One woman can change the course of history”

Gertrude Bell (Nicole Kidman) is a restless young Englishwoman who leaves her comfortable family behind to travel the Near and Middle East at the dawn of the twentieth century. She becomes a writer, archaeologist and cartographer, and the tribal leaders she befriends give the British Empire a use for her. Werner Herzog follows her from her early twenties, with T.E. Lawrence (Robert Pattinson) among those she meets, to a woman alone with her maps.
