Quill: The Life of a Guide Dog

“A dog's life is never as easy as it looks.”

A Labrador retriever named Quill is put into guide-dog training while still a puppy, and the film does not say what he is being trained for until a blind man, Mitsuru Watanabe (Kaoru Kobayashi), is matched with him. Mitsuru does not want to hand his steps over to an animal. Yōichi Sai tells it plainly and at the dog's level, following Quill through his early training and his first days beside a man who has not yet decided to trust him.
