Quintet

“One man against the world.”

Essex (Paul Newman) and his wife, Vivia (Brigitte Fossey), reach a city buried in ice during a new glacial age, where the last of humanity passes the days over a board game called Quintet. A small circle of players has made it lethal, using living pieces, and only the winner survives. Robert Altman shoots through a frosted, smeared lens, so the edges of every frame blur white.
