Quo Vadis

“THIS IS THE BIG ONE! The splendor and savagery of the world's wickedest empire! Three hours of spectacle you'll remember for a lifetime!”

Marcus Vinicius (Robert Taylor), a Roman commander home from the wars, takes one look at Lygia (Deborah Kerr), a Christian hostage, and cannot think of anything else. The more he follows her, the harder he finds it to go on serving Nero (Peter Ustinov), the emperor whose court his friend Petronius (Leo Genn) moves through so easily. Mervyn LeRoy films it in Technicolor on an enormous scale, with banquets, crowds and the emperor's palace all packed into the frame.
