Nick Walker (Ryan Reynolds), a cop, wakes up dead after his partner shoots him. A tough old marshal named Roy Pulsipher (Jeff Bridges) recruits him into the R.I.P.D., a supernatural police force tasked with hunting down the dead who refuse to cross over. Nick and Roy chase a conspiracy that reaches back to the living world, but Nick's real problem is the distance between them, two men forced to trust each other when neither knows how.
