A newly married landlord is found murdered, and Inspector Jatil Yadav (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), a misfit cop in a small town, is called in to investigate. The dead man's family is wealthy and closed, and Jatil's questions keep running into their silences. Honey Trehan keeps the camera patient and the house airless, so each interview feels like another door shutting.
