“An Incredible True Story”

Sehmat Syed (Alia Bhatt), a young Kashmiri woman, agrees to marry Iqbal (Vicky Kaushal), the son of a Pakistani military family, so she can pass information to India on the eve of the 1971 war. Meghna Gulzar adapts Harinder Sikka's novel Calling Sehmat, based on a true account of a RAW agent sent to live inside that household. Under the film's tension sits one plain question: what a country's cause takes from the person who carries it out.
