“Tuning in.”

Joe (Seth Green) is a boy in a working-class family in Rockaway Beach, where the radio is always on and the whole household stops to listen. Woody Allen, who also narrates, strings together the family's small dramas with the programs and radio stars they follow, from the late 1930s to New Year's Eve 1944. The childhood the voice is describing lasts only as long as the broadcasts do, and television is about to end them.
