Raging Bull

“I don’t go down for nobody.”

Jake LaMotta (Robert De Niro) is a middleweight boxer in 1940s New York, explosive in the ring and consumed by jealousy outside it. He marries Vickie (Cathy Moriarty), but suspicion corrodes him from within, turning every moment into a test of her loyalty. Scorsese shoots the fights in bone-white light and the rages in shadow, leaving Jake alone in a dressing room, reciting words from memory, the mirror reflecting nothing but a man made small.
