Rain Man

“A journey through understanding and fellowship.”

Charlie Babbitt (Tom Cruise) flies home to Cincinnati for his estranged father's funeral and learns the $3 million estate goes to a brother he never knew existed. That brother is Raymond (Dustin Hoffman), a savant who lives in a mental institution, and Charlie checks him out to drive him back to Los Angeles. Barry Levinson keeps the camera close on the two of them in the car, letting the miles do the work.
