Raise the Titanic

“They've found the Titanic. There's just one thing left to do...”

Admiral James Sandecker (Jason Robards) sends a salvage team to the Atlantic to bring up the Titanic, the only known source of a rare mineral that matters to the Cold War. Dirk Pitt (Richard Jordan) leads the operation, and Jerry Jameson films it as a race against time with the whole ship as the prize. If the wreck stays on the seabed, the mineral stays out of reach.
