Rancho Deluxe

“Oh give me a home, with a low interest loan, A cowgirl and two pickup trucks. A color TV, all the beer should be free, And that, man, is Rancho Deluxe.”

Jack McKee (Jeff Bridges) and Cecil Colson (Sam Waterston) steal cattle from a wealthy rancher in present-day Livingston, Montana, driving off with the animals and dodging the people paid to catch them. The rancher is John Brown (Clifton James), and Frank Perry sets the whole business among pickup trucks, barbed wire and small-town bars. Jack and Cecil are drifters who treat the stealing as an easy way to get by.
