Ransom

“Someone is going to pay.”

A boy is taken, and the call comes to his parents, Tom (Mel Gibson) and Katherine Mullen (Rene Russo), with a price attached. Tom is a wealthy man, so he does what he is told at first and lets the FBI, led by Agent Lonnie Hawkins (Delroy Lindo), into his house. Ron Howard's thriller keeps coming back to how little money can do once a child's life is the thing being bargained for.
