Ransom for a Dead Man

Leslie Williams (Lee Grant) is a sharp attorney with a husband she has stopped wanting, and she arranges to be rid of him by staging a kidnapping and collecting the ransom. Richard Irving directs this TV movie, with the FBI agent Carlson (Harold Gould) on the case and Columbo (Peter Falk) hanging around the edges in his crumpled raincoat. Columbo keeps asking small, polite questions, and he does not stop.
