Rat Fever

“They can shut the artist up, but never his poetry”

A poor quarter of Recife keeps making people listen to Zizo (Irandhir Santos), an anarchist poet who prints his angry verse in a paper called Febre do Rato and recites it to whoever is nearby. Cláudio Assis builds the film around the bohemian world Zizo has made for himself, where helping the unfortunate comes mixed with a good dose of malice. Zizo's friend Pazinho (Matheus Nachtergaele) stays close, and Zizo's attention drifts toward Eneida (Nanda Costa).
