Remy (Patton Oswalt) is a rat with an obsession: he can taste the layers in food the way other rats smell garbage. When he ends up in the sewers beneath a struggling Paris restaurant, he forms an unlikely partnership with Linguini (Lou Romano), a garbage boy with no talent. Brad Bird builds their connection in small moments, a rat pulling hair from under a chef's hat to move his hands, two creatures learning to trust each other enough to cook.
