Ray

“The extraordinary life story of Ray Charles.”

On a sharecropping plantation in northern Florida, Ray Charles (Jamie Foxx) goes blind at seven, raised by a mother who refuses to let him lean on anyone. He finds his way to the piano and onto the Southern touring circuit, where he starts joining gospel to country. Taylor Hackford covers thirty years of Charles's life, with Foxx at the keyboard for most of it.
