“Herbert West has a good head on his shoulders...and another one on his desk.”

Bodies keep going missing from the morgue at Miskatonic University, and the one working late among them is Herbert West (Jeffrey Combs), a medical student with a glowing reagent and a clipped, unbothered manner. He shows fellow student Dan Cain (Bruce Abbott) what it does to the freshly dead, while Dr. Carl Hill (David Gale) watches. Stuart Gordon stages the lab work with a straight face, so the horror comes out as dry, deadpan comedy.
