Reading Lolita in Tehran

Azar Nafisi (Golshifteh Farahani), a literature professor in Tehran in 1979, begins meeting seven of her most dedicated female students to read the banned classics. Eran Riklis follows Azar and women like Sanaz (Zar Amir Ebrahimi) and Nassrin (Mina Kavani) as they bring forbidden novels into a country under censorship and religious extremism. Every page they read is a risk, and the women know how much they could lose.
