“A better reality awaits.”

Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan) is a teenage orphan in 2045 who wants the one thing the OASIS has never given anyone: a way out of the real world for good. When its creator dies, he leaves behind a contest that promises ownership of the whole simulation. Wade and his friends race to solve it before a corporation led by Sorrento (Ben Mendelsohn) does, and Steven Spielberg keeps the camera swooping through the virtual worlds in long, restless takes.
