Rear Window

“It only takes one witness to spoil the perfect crime.”

A woman across the courtyard has vanished from the window opposite, and L.B. Jefferies (James Stewart) is the only one who seems to have noticed. Laid up in his apartment with a broken leg, he has nothing to do but watch his neighbors, and he starts to suspect Lars Thorwald (Raymond Burr) of murder. Hitchcock keeps us in Jefferies' chair, where Lisa (Grace Kelly) leans in beside him and the courtyard windows glow in the dark.
