Rebel in the Rye

“Behind every masterpiece is a story.”

J.D. Salinger (Nicholas Hoult) is a young New Yorker who wants to be a writer, and his father Sol (Victor Garber) wants him in the family business. Danny Strong follows him from the classroom of his mentor Whit Burnett (Kevin Spacey) through the war and into the years of writing The Catcher in the Rye. Salinger has a voice he will not compromise and a book he believes in, and the world is about to ask him for more than he is willing to give.
