Rebellion
Philippe Legorjus (Mathieu Kassovitz), chief of a French counter-terrorist squad, wants to end a hostage crisis on Ouvéa Island without a shot fired. In April 1988, Kanak independence fighters led by Alphonse Dianou (Iabe Lapacas) hold thirty gendarmes, while three hundred soldiers arrive from France in the middle of a presidential election. Kassovitz directs himself and films in Tahiti, and the two men's talks go on among the island's palm trees.
