Recess: Taking the Fifth Grade
“Wow ... fifth grade! But what good is practically being a grown-up when the teacher's a big sourpuss?”
T.J. Detweiler (Myles Jeffrey) just wants the fifth grade to feel like the fourth, with pizza in the cafeteria, a playground to run around on, and lockers for his stuff. None of that is waiting for him when the school year starts, and his new teacher is Miss Finster, the cantankerous one. Howy Parkins sends T.J. and his friends out to stand up for the school they love, and the film treats that as worth the effort.
