Red Desert

“This is the story of a woman… Her hidden thirsts and hungers…”

Giuliana (Monica Vitti) is a married woman in an industrial town in Northern Italy, still shaken by a car accident and unable to settle into the world around her. Michelangelo Antonioni, shooting his first film in color, sets her among factories and her husband's circle, where she begins an affair with Corrado Zeller (Richard Harris). The film shows a person struggling to belong in a place built for machines.
