John Sanders (Lou Diamond Phillips) used to work the oil rigs and now captains a fishing boat on the Mississippi, a job that keeps him out of other people's business. That changes when his ex-wife's company needs help extracting oil upriver, and a crew working for a Jamaican gangster is hunting $3 million buried in the same bayou. Charles Robert Carner puts a bull shark in that brown river, where body parts keep turning up in the shallows.
